The West House & Heath Robinson Museum Trust is pleased to announce that the prestigious Chris Beetles Gallery, from St. James’s in London, is returning to Pinner between 6th and 25th March.
This year the exhibition will showcase the continuity of two Golden Ages of Illustration showing original works by William Heath Robinson and his brother, Charles, but it will in the main concentrate on contemporary illustrators such as Quentin Blake, Nick Butterworth, Emma Chichester Clark, Paul Cox, Michael Foreman, Amanda Hall, Oliver Jeffers, Helen Oxenbury and Jane Pinkney.
Although the technology of book production has changed over the decades, core skills and values have been kept alive by the best of illustrators and their images are injected with charm, humour and imagination. Like the Robinsons before them these artists are equally adept at interpreting classics, working with new authors and developing their own characters.
All illustrations exhibited will be available for purchase for your own personal enjoyment. The images below, which are a sample of those to be shown, are by courtesy of Chris Beetles Gallery, St. James’s, London. www.chrisbeetles.com
The exhibition together with the Heath Robinson Gallery and Shop will be open daily from 11am to 5pm with Free Entry.
